The JV Cougars lost a tough match against Illiana Christian by a score of 4 - 0. The JV Cougars played hard throughout the entire match. In the first half the Cougars created several scoring chances, but were unable to find the back of the net. Owen Gosciniak fired a very nice long range shot that was barely saved by a diving goalkeeper. The first half ended by a score of 3 - 0, but the score was not indicative of the competitiveness of the match. In the 2nd half the Cougars continued to fight hard. Marco Gordillo and Gabe Thomas both had scoring opportunities, and the defense held the score at 3-0 for the entirety of the 2nd half. With 44 seconds left in the half the other team managed to get a goal in, causing the final score to be 4-0. The JV Cougars next play at home on Wednesday, September 3rd against the St. Joseph Huskies JV squad. Game time is 5:00 PM CST.
